Project Finale

Currently still rendering. Been rendering animation now for total of 6 hrs 50 mins. Will post here when complete...

Video now finished rendering. The last animation is hard to see.. This is the projector lens emerging and turning. I plan to have another video uploaded soon in the store environment.

I have made one huge mistake of not taking a picture without the ball in the scene. this means I could not get the animation completed properly within the store environment. I will have to fix this at a later time. You can see however in this blog I did manage to get the environment map successfully working in a scene.

I have had to alter my animation and I have just used a white background for this.

I have completed animation and HDRI. This will be completed properly at a later date. See below for my hand in animation.. This will be replaced by full in scene animation once I get the chance to take another picture without the silver ball in it

Putting model into scene

see below for a test scenes. For the meantime ignore the ball. This will not be there in final scene. for test purposes only

Environment map applied to model

Here are two very quick examples of the environment map in use

Taking pictures for HDRI image

Check below for my images for this. I have taken 7 different photos of the ball at 7 different exposures. I then used HDR shop to make a panoramic image to use as the environment map. I was not happy with the outcome of this map for a few reasons.
1. I did not have much time to shoot this
2. other staff members were in the store and I could not get an empty shot.
3. I can be seen in the reflection taking the picture. I had no wireless remote facility to take the pictures.

If I was doing this again I would make sure the store was empty and that I used the timer facility on the camera.

Here is the final image map to use in 3DS max.

Texturing

I have now unwrapped my model. see below for uvw maps for the screen and for the back of the phone.

here are also some quickly rendered textured models from max. at the minute I used a screen grab from HTCs website. the final image will be different as I will be sourcing my own screen graphics.
